As Hyundai Motor Türkiye, we have officially started mass production of our all-electric new model, IONIQ 3, with a ceremony held at our İzmit plant. With this important milestone, we have become the first foreign automotive manufacturer to produce electric vehicles in Türkiye, marking a new chapter in our electrification journey.
Over the past two years, we have carried out a comprehensive transformation at our plant to prepare for IONIQ 3 production. While establishing the necessary infrastructure for next-generation electric vehicle manufacturing, we have also aimed to further strengthen Türkiye’s position as a key automotive production hub. With an annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles, our İzmit plant has produced more than 3.4 million vehicles to date, exporting over 2.6 million of them.
IONIQ 3 Start of Mass Production Ceremony was attended by Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Türkiye Sukjong Boo, Hyundai Motor Europe CEO Xavier Martinet, Hyundai Motor Türkiye CEO Alex Kim, Kibar Holding CEO Ali Kibar, as well as representatives from public institutions, local authorities, and the business community.
With IONIQ 3, we are not only strengthening our electrification strategy but also reaffirming our confidence in Türkiye’s manufacturing capabilities and potential. Through our continued investments, we will further enhance our production capabilities and contribute to the future of sustainable mobility.
